A Brief Review of the Strangers From Hell Problem, Terror and Mysterious K-Drama

waktu tunggu, please wait!

Stranger From Hell is one of the latest Korean dramas adapted from Webtoon of the same name. This drama stars Im Siwan and Lee Dong Wook. This thriller genre has a total of 10 episodes that are nearing the end. This drama is suitable for those of you who want to watch Korean dramas with a gripping feel and no romantic at all.

Unlike the Webtoon Version

Although adapted from one of the number one Webtoon in Naver's ranking, the drama version of "Stranger From Hell" has a storyline that is quite different from the comic version. For those of you who have finished reading this one comic at Webtoon, you must be familiar with the dragging and very short story for a new chapter.

In contrast to comics, a drama series definitely requires a solid story. There are many additional story elements that appear in the drama "Stranger From Hell". Starting from the addition of characters, to various points of view of the story. Starting from Yoon Jong Woo, the main character, "the killer", and there is another new character, a police officer who is trying to investigate the people who mysteriously disappeared.

Unlike the comic version which is fully focused on Yoon Jong Woo, this drama will not make you feel the parano that Jong Woo feels when he has to face the strange inhabitants of ko Eden alone.

The story also changes dramatically in the second episode, where an essential character in a comic must be removed and replaced with a new character. Up to this point, you are free to enjoy comics without having to compare them with the Webtoon version, because the story has changed quite dramatically from the adapted version.

Lee Dong Wook's amazing acting

Lee Dong Wook's acting as a dentist named Seo Moon Zo is the latest performance you will see from this actor. Usually appearing as a quiet, cool, and classy man in previous dramas, Lee Dong Wook has another side that will make you shudder.

This one actor is clearly "having fun" in exploring his acting skills in "Stranger From Hell". Instead of a sweet smile that is charming, light as wide as spooky with a terrible view will make you feel uncomfortable and amazed. Lee Dong Wook's smile in this series is very iconic and is one of the elements that you will never forget.

Not only Lee Dong Woo who displayed maximum acting performance, several other "crazy" characters also managed to turn 2D characters into reality. Starting from the gimmick and nature, each character looks in accordance with the comic adaptation.

However, changes in the concept of the story make one of the characters change. As if swapping roles with new characters. Some annoying characters like Jong Woo's seniors at work also seem more frustrating even though they are delivered with slightly different characteristics.

Gloomy and Artistic Cinematography

One interesting element in the drama "Stranger From Hell" is a cinematography that is different from drama in general. Each episode makes a scene with an artistic visual appearance for the size of the drama. This series has cinematic thriller classmates that support tension throughout the story.

For the production of the boarding house Eden is quite similar to the depiction that exists in the Webtoon version. With dark hallways and narrow, stuffy rooms. The accuracy of the location of the kitchen and bathroom was quite perfect. Allows us to feel the horror of the dark Eden boarding house and keep many secrets in every corner.

The Meaning of a Story That Touches the Human Side

Jong Woo is the main character in this story. Only poor men who try their luck in the city, you will see Jong Woo's struggle as an intern. He will also face moral choices. He is a good character but also has a hidden aggressive personality.

The harder life is, the more violent the behavior of the person concerned, Jong Woo is one example of thousands of people who are annoyed with people around him and with the imagination to attack them because they are upset. You will witness Jong Woo's attractive character development against eccentric doctors who try to turn him into one of them.

Overall, the drama "Stranger From Hell" is a thrilling thriller that offers a new sensation. Presented with artistic cinematography and place settings that support the gloomy nuance you want to build.

This drama does have a label as a comic adaptation, but the story has quite a lot more than what the comic version has. When the comic version has a focused and minimalist story, this drama version has a richer story.
